About The Course

This training module provides healthcare professionals with essential knowledge and skills to safely, ethically, and legally perform Rapid Tranquillisation (RT) in high-risk behavioural situations. Covering clinical criteria, medication options, monitoring protocols, and multidisciplinary responsibilities, the course emphasises evidence-based practice, patient rights, and regulatory compliance. Learners will gain confidence in identifying appropriate use cases, administering medication, and managing special populations such as children, older adults, and pregnant individuals. Post-incident debriefing, documentation, and quality improvement are also addressed.

Learning Objectives

Identify clinical criteria and risk indicators that warrant the use of Rapid Tranquillisation.

Distinguish appropriate vs. inappropriate use based on legal, ethical, and professional standards.

Describe pharmacological options, including their indications, contraindications, and monitoring.
